Highways & Transportation
P&J was a major builder of the original interstate highway system, and continues to provide quality construction services to this market. We perform work on highways and transportation projects throughout the United States.
Dams, Levees, & Reservoirs
We have worked with a variety of owners and engineers performing clearing and earthwork for dams, levees, and reservoirs throughout the United States. P&J has also constructed dams, dam retrofits, seismic stabilization, and a wide range of liner installations.
Government Sector
Since the early 1950's, beginning with P&J's first projects, we have built a history of exemplary performance in the public sector; successfully working with and for government agencies at the federal, state, and local levels.
Power & Energy
P&J’s experience in the energy industry dates back to the 1950s. Our Power/Energy Group specializes in clearing land, building access roads and pads, installing storm drainage and erosion control, installing mats, and working in environmentally sensitive areas.
Oil & Gas
Our Oil & Gas Group specializes in clearing & grubbing for pipeline rights-of-way, civil work associated with compressor station sites, and access road construction. We also perform site preparation for drill pads and construction of water impoundments.
Rail
P&J performs construction for Class 1 to Short Line Railroads. Our experience includes projects that range from simple maintenance to design/build.
Landfills
P&J has completed hundreds of acres of landfill projects for diverse owners in both the public and private sectors. This experience has made us sensitive and flexible to the specific needs of each landfill project we undertake.
Emergency Response
Our emergency response experience includes efforts following the largest emergency and disaster events in the U.S. We have a proven management plan and decades of experience. P&J can quickly mobilize the resources to start and sustain a response and recovery project of any size.

US 441 Re-Opening
US 441, the primary connection between Gatlinburg, TN and Cherokee, NC reopened April 15th after a rockslide forced the closure of the road 90 days ago. Scheduled for completion by May 15th, P&J earned the entire incentive payment by completing the project a month early. Ted Phillips (pictured below) visited the Project Team to congratulate them for their fantastic work.
