Description:
The L - 8 Reservoir, completed in September, 2008 is located in Loxahatchee, FL in Palm Beach County. 46,000 acre feet of water storage. 1,996,000 CYS of earth filled levees on 3:1 slope, 34,000,000 CYS of underwater excavation, placement of the dredged material into structural fill, construction of 65,000 LF of return water canals, construction of a temporary bridge across the L-8 Canal, construction of coffer dams, construction of an 8,500 LF emergency RCC spillway, 400 LF of temporary sheet piling; dewatering elevation 16 to -20 for major earthwork; 45,000 LF of inspection roads, associated storm drainage, coordination of utility relocations, coordination with various county, state and federal agencies to permit and construct the project and construction of a 11,500 LF bentonite slurry wall 75 FT deep.

All work was self perfomed with the exception of the slurry wall construction. The contract also included the site prep of three adjoining parcels of land for futre develoopment. The dredge material was placed in various areas on these parcels to create more usable development property.
