KINGSTON FOSSIL PLANT DREDGE CELL CLOSURE CAP

Phillips & Jordan was contracted to complete the installation of a cap and flexible membrane liner system for the $1.2B dredge cell closure project located at the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) Kingston Fossil Plant. Due to the complex nature of the project, extensive planning and coordination with TVA and other contractors working at the site was critical to successful completion of the project.
Major items of work completed by Phillips & Jordan for this project included installation of 40 mil flexible membrane liner, geocomposite, and geotextile fabric; placement of 24 inch thick cap cover soil; and installation of 4 inch and 6 inch high density polyethylene pipe. A workforce comprised of over 50 personnel and 44 pieces of equipment perform on-site project activities on a daily basis. Due to the fact that the project site was regulated under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act, all Phillips & Jordan employees were required to be trained under the Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response standard.
